Grotesquely magnificent! In a departure from the honour roll of insects, I had to include a few spiders. As summer nears its end, the spiders get bigger and more noticable. Walking into a spider web at night strung over a footpath probably means one of these hideous looking beasties is somewhere close at hand. Shudder.....

wow, this is what i call scary and eerie! a magnificent macro - glad we don't get to see them like this in real life, although i quite like spiders in general ... (but not that big ...)
